#Speech Evaluation #Checklist for #Teachers and Students

When I googled “speech evaluation checklist,” I got all kinds of stuff from Toastmasters, but very little was out there for teachers and students. So I thought it might be a good idea to post my own speech evaluation checklist. That way other teachers, like me, will have easy access to it.

If you’re new to my website, you might be wondering, “Who is writing this, and what does she know about public speaking?”

I’m Chelly Wood, and although I’ve taught English/language arts for 20+ years, I also moonlight as a YA novelist. To help promote my books, I’ve been known to offer my two bits at schools and writers’ conferences. My tale of a Latina teen who finds herself pregnant and married to a total stranger (a teenage gabacho her dad picked out for her) will be released in July of 2016 by Reputation Books. It’s called Sunkissed Sodas, and you can see the book trailer on my YouTube channel.

Anyhoo, this is the speech evaluation checklist I use in my classroom whenever my students present formal speeches in my classroom:
