    A. I think that the most frightening thing the happened to Bilbo was when he was in the Gobblin’s cave searching for the way out. He was in the dark, and in my opinion, the dark is terrifying! You never know if a Texas Chain Saw Massacre is gonna jump out and attack you… I hate the dark!

    Q. #4. Which of the dwarves seems to be the most prominent (noticeable) figure, and why is he so important to the story?

    A. I think Thorin was the most noticable figure because at the beginning of the story, it says that Thorin was kind of the leader of thedwarves, besides Bilbo and Gandalf. And in the book, Thorin always says “Thorin and Comp.” so it kinda gives you an idea.

    Q. #5. Why do you believe the dwarves needed Bilbo? In other words, why can’t they achieve their goal without him?

    A. The Dwarves would have never suceeded without Bilbo because he is kinda the most bravest of them all. He sneaks into the dark caves, and fights off the horrible spiders, and finds a way to save them from the Elves. Without Bilbo, the dwarves would have never beem able to continue on with the adventure.

  3. 1.How did the dwarves manage to enlist Bilbo as their burglar?
Because the dwarves debated over it and Thorin suggested that he will be the thief. And the dwarves say that they will pay Bilbo well.

2.What has Gandalf’s role been from the very beginning?
I think he was supposed to the gardian of the group. He gave Thorin the map, and he kinda helped the group when they were in trouble. And he’s kinda of the conductor of the journey.

3.What was the most frightening thing that has happened to Bilbo so far, in your opinion, and why did you choose that particular event?
In my opinion, I think it was when Bilbo re-enters Smaug’s cave/dwelling and he comes face-to-face with him. And he starts talking and makes ridddles to the dragon. I just think it’s too risky to come across a lethal mythical creature that can spew fire out of it’s mouth… And since Smaug knew he was the theif.

4.Which of the dwarves seems to be the most prominent (noticeable) figure, and why is he so important to the story?
I’d probably say Thorin. Mainly because he’s the leader of the dwarves and he is in the story a lot. And he has the map.

5.Why do you believe the dwarves needed Bilbo? In other words, why can’t they achieve their goal without him?
Well I think that since he was practically a naturally born thief, he comes in handy a lot. Like he told the guards to try some wine, and stole the keys to get Thorin out of the prison thing. And he’s stealthy and wise. And he saved the dwarves twice. So in other words, if it wasn’t for Bilbo, the dwarves probably would’ve been dead.

  4. 1. How did the dwarves manage to enlist Bilbo as their burglar?

*I think that the most frightening thing that Bilbo has encountered so far on this journey has been the part where the spiders try to eat them. I chose this event because I’m afraid of spiders, and if I would’ve run into ginormo ones, I would die. ‘Nuff said…

    4. Which of the dwarves seems to be the most prominent (noticeable) figure, and why is he so important to the story?

*Well, I think that the most important figure in the story as of the dwarves, would of course be Bilbo. Because I feel like he’s kinda the main character, but kind of not, in a way. He is important to the story because he sounds like one of those classic characters in books and movies, where at first they’re all shy at first, but then at the end of the story, they find their “inner-self”, and they make “friends”, and they find “the true meaning of life” and all that jazz.

    5. Why do you believe the dwarves needed Bilbo? In other words, why can’t they achieve their goal without him?
